Mr. Haws has served as Project Director of Morrell Agro Industries since August 2009. Prior to joining MAI he was a Project Director for Domes for the World Foundation, an NGO improving lives of people worldwide through the construction of Monothic Domes. There he managed a 80 home community development in Indonesia, built orphanage housing in Ethiopia, and did international consulting on other housing projects. Prior to this he worked as a Project Superintendent for South Industries, an international building contractor. There he managed the construction of large, custom homes and commercial buildings in Spain, Guam, Alabama, Florida, New York, Tennessee, California, Washington, Idaho, and Oklahoma. He is also currently the owner of All West Investments LLC, a real estate holding company.
Prior to joining MAI in Ethiopia, Mr. Haws and his wife Alyssa had visited the country on a humanitarian honeymoon, where they did service at the Village of Hope. It was then that they decided to adopt five Ethiopian children. So, in June of 2009, when Paul Morrell gave them the opportunity to move to Ethiopia, where Wes would work as a farm manager on MAI’s 10,000 hectare farm in Beltu, they jumped at the opportunity. As the Project Director of the Alyssa farm, Mr. Haws oversaw the land clearing, as well as building infrastructure and construction, on the property. An accident on the farm lead to his return to the United States in late 2010.
